Description: Presented by:
Greg Newton

With the shift to Individual Training Accounts and during times of lower unemployment, employer-training subsidies became less needed, and some state and local workforce systems abandoned OJT. These workforce systems are now re-emphasizing and reinvigorating the OJT option to supplement classroom-training options. Systems are now positioning to respond to the rapidly emerging demand for “earn and learn” training strategies as a key component of job creation in a recession and as a route to recovery. There are other reasons that OJT is back:

• OJT responds to many of the workforce system’s six seismic shifts
• OJT is perfect for a challenging economy
• OJT has strong performance outcomes
• USDOL and Congress are increasingly recognizing OJT as the right service for these challenging times.

When you attend this webinar, you will learn:
• The Emerging Shift to “Earn and Learn” Strategies and Its Implications for You, Your Center, and Your System
• Why OJT Is back (big time!) and why you should reinvigorate or initiate this training option right now
• Many practical tips and tactics on how to get the most from OJT as a training strategy (and how to avoid the pitfalls)
• Proven-to-work marketing strategies for targeting businesses, promoting OJT, and making it work for both the job seeker and the employer
