Putting the Pieces Together

This Learning E-vent puts the pieces of the HIT puzzle together to help you understand:

  • What jobs are being created or changed by HIT

  • What skills and training are necessary to qualify for HIT jobs

  • How workers will be trained and which institutions have been funded

  • What enrollment qualifications training organizations will require

  • Who has been awarded HIT funding and how can you partner with them

  • How HIT funding will produce job opportunities for your clients

  • How to increase your organization’s value by providing an HIT stakeholders conference

  • How to access HIT funding through subcontracting with community colleges, universities, Regional Extension Centers and public health agencies

  • The Learning E-vent includes a case study from University of California San Diego Extension describing initial first year HIT training and placement results as well as a list of agencies receiving federal funding pertaining to workforce development programming.
