Andrew Brower


Andrew Brower is the executive director of The SOURCE, a non-profit focused on workforce development leading to economic development. The SOURCE is a collaborative effort led by Grand Rapids, MI businesses, the Kent County Department of Human Services, and area human service organizations to efficiently and effectively deliver employee and family retention, training, and asset supports that lead to personal and professional growth and increased productivity . Andrew previously was the human resource director for Butterball Farms, Inc., one of the founding employers in The SOURCE. 

Andrew first became engaged in working with issues of poverty and community development when he served two years for the United States Peace Corps in Honduras, Central America.  Prior to his service in the Peace Corps, Andrew earned a Bachelor's degree from Albion College and a Masters degree from Michigan Technological University.  His volunteer activities include work with ACCESS , Hospice of Michigan, Leadership Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Meijer Good Schools, and he serves on the City of Grand Rapids Board of Zoning Appeals. 

Andrew and his wife, Janay, have two daughters and live in the Eastown neighborhood of Grand Rapids.
