Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) provides assistance and work opportunities to families in need. It is an important job to help TANF recipients move towards self-sufficiency, to acquire work, to hold the job, and to move up a career and economic ladder. This one day E-conference is designed to better understand the needs of the TANF customer and to provide relevant tools and techniques for professionals to better perform their work.

Whether we help people with starter jobs, training or to upgrade employment, a key factor in being successful is personal motivation. Many of our TANF participants struggle to meet basic needs and those needs come first, but a brighter future comes from planning and preparation and people need help with that process when they are ready. This session will give you a framework to use in helping TANF participants assess where they are and develop a future view of where they want to be. The workshop is designed for new and experienced staff and will give you immediate strategies to use in assisting your customers to begin planning for their future.
