beta member
highlight
AnnMarie Jordan
comes to us from the state of Washington. She became a student with
Dynamic Works as a participant in a Competency Pilot Program in January
2003. After completing several courses and submitting her comments
and evaluations, we noticed an exceptional degree of detail and thoughtfulness.
So, we asked her to join the Beta Test Team.
AnnMarie says,
"your invitation came as a pleasant surprise to me." Her
previous experience as a Quality Assurance Technician gave her a unique
perspective and highly valued skill set as a course reviewer. After
being invited, she called her friend and former supervisor to share
the news. Her friend's response was, "Once a tester, always a
tester!"
The Competency
Pilot Program in Washington was designed to determine
if the Tier 1 courses could be implemented as a comprehensive training
vehicle, and if program outcomes were enhanced by the training.
AnnMarie says
that she found taking the Dynamic Works courses to be an excellent
introduction to the workforce development profession. Being new to
the field meant that her learning curve was high. She reports that
she is now more confident while working with customers in the WorkSource
Career Center and better able to understand and participate at a higher
level.
"In a recent
conversation with a customer I was able to speak with her on her level
about cultural and diversity issues due in part to my learning gained
through the Diversity class. There were several concepts and terms
that I used easily in the conversation that I don't think I would
have known or felt comfortable with had I not taken the Diversity
course. I felt good that I was able to help her and excited to see
the training in use."
