Responding
to state and federal initiatives, local workforce development
systems are creating demand-driven systems that are responsive
to the needs of business customers. To accomplish this
objective, many WIBs are convening teams of business services
staff from economic development, education, and workforce
development to design business outreach plans that outline
how the three systems will work together to deliver comprehensive,
seamless services to local businesses. These teams are
participating in a series of facilitated training sessions
to help them embed training principles into the design
of their outreach strategies (e.g., creating a single
point of contact system, shifting from selling services
to providing solutions to business problems).
|

|
|
While the goals and objectives of the business services
plans are customized to meet the demands of local area
businesses, they share the following components:
- Description
of how the business services outreach strategies support
federal, state, and local initiatives.
- Description
of the coordinated outreach to businesses including
a single point of contact system and standardized protocols
and procedures (e.g., referrals, needs assessments)
to ensure seamless service delivery.
- A
comprehensive menu of services designed to address current
and emerging business needs.
- Description
of measures of success that will describe how the system
has positively impacted the businesses served (e.g.,
dollars saved in training costs, decrease in turnover
costs).
- Strategies
for communicating successes.
- Strategies
for continuously improving the demand-driven system.
- Creation
of toolbox of tools for staff to use in their consultation
with businesses (e.g., account management tools, salary
comparison tools).
- A
marketing plan for promoting the collaborative efforts.
To
augment the rollout of business services plans, local
systems are building the capacity of business services
staff using a combination of classroom and online training.
A key component of many of these capacity building initiatives
is the requirement that staff use the training to attain
business services credentials. In response, Dynamic Works
Institute offers a Business and Employer Services certification
program based on the National Association of Workforce
Development Professionals competencies to help business
staff attain the skills and credentials that they need
to be successful (e.g., business communications, developing
relationships with businesses, knowledge of economic development).
Sandra Hastings Associates supports the training with
onsite facilitation for the development of business plans,
ongoing mentoring of business services teams, assistance
with the design of marketing tools, and Webinars to address
emerging training needs.
Sandra
Hastings provided content for the Business Communications,
Development of Business Relationships, and Human Resources
Services courses included in the Dynamic Works Institute
online Business & Employer Services Certification
Package. Contact Dynamic Works at (321) 690-5348 or sales@dynamicinstitute.com.

Order your
training now for Prevention of Sexual Harassment!
Dynamic
Works is pleased to announce a new online training course entitled
Prevention of Sexual Harassment.
Course
Introduction:
Sexual harassment
conflicts are among the most disruptive and divisive in today's
workplace. They set fellow workers against each other, and some
people can be scarred for life. Most sexual harassment in the
workplace is abuse of power, and not inspired by genuine romance.
|
 |
|
The surest
way to eliminate sexual harassment is through an atmosphere
of mutual respect among all personnel. The best way to achieve
this is to clearly and forcefully prohibit sexual harassment
in the workplace, and to provide resources to enable employees
to understand their roles and responsibilities in preventing
sexual harassment.
Training
is important. People often misunderstand each other in the best
of circumstances. Learning more about how others interpret behavior
will help everyone. This program is dedicated to that purpose.
Learning
Objectives:
At the end
of this training the student will be able to:
- Identify
behavior that might be considered sexual harassment.
- Explain
the legal and other consequences of sexual harassment.
- Describe
their role and responsibility in creating a workplace free
of sexual harassment.
- State
what actions to take against sexual harassment.
This course
is now available online for the low, per student price of just
$50, and it is also a part of our Personal Growth training package,
which also includes Conflict Management, Developing Your Decision-Making
Skills, Stress Management, and Time Management courses. Contact
Dynamic Works for information on how you can earn volume
